| Description: | Responsible for overseeing audits of Horizon Bancorp and subsidiaries. This oversight will include but not be limited to review & evaluation of systems, operations, financial activities, and compliance to reduce loss exposure, enhance control and increase productivity. This position utilizes a disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of Enterprise Risk Management, control, and governance processes. |
| Duties: | Supervise the internal audit staff.
Chief liaison between Horizon’s internal and external audit firms.
Provide SOX 404 review of financial statements filed with the SEC.
Responsible for Enterprise Risk Management oversight.
Maintain the vendor rating system.
Responsible for insurance coverage’s.
Attend/participate in various committee meetings.
Maintain confidential reporting program and supervise responses to Program inquiries.
Perform on site customer reviews for mortgage warehouse clients.
Ensure completion of annual audit scope.

| Qualifications: | A minimum of ten years of audit experience in a financial institution with knowledge of accounting, finance and internal control.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
Demonstrated experience in conducting audits and preparing audit reports.
Possess strong analytical-based experience in evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
Ability to function independently as well as interacting effectively with many different operational areas and levels of management.
Good working knowledge of PC and network environment word processing, database and spreadsheet software.
Ability to communicate issues effectively at all levels of the organization and convey necessary information in making and defending positions with peers and management.
Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor own work plan in an efficient and effective manner.
Demonstrated ability to complete assignments on time.
Demonstrated ability to make improvements to the Company.
